Every season offers an abundance of recreational activities in Pagosa Springs. The warmer months provide a wide variety of activities including lake fishing and fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking and backpacking, camping, rafting, tennis, boating at Navajo Lake, scenic train rides in neighboring towns and fantastic golfing at our own 27-hole championship golf course. Chimney Rock and Mesa Verde historical sites are also nearby and offer guided tours of ancient Indian ruins.
If the colder months are more to your taste, you'll enjoy Wolf Creek Ski Area located only a short drive from town. Boasting "The Most Snow In Colorado," the downhill skiing and snowboarding are excellent. Cross-country skiing is also popular as well as snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, ice fishing and of course our infamous big game hunting.
But no matter what the season, you can always find interesting shops and restaurants to explore, take a relaxing soak in the world-famous hot springs or just enjoy the magnificent beauty surrounding you. |
